Are you looking for a way to be grounded and centered in this busy and crazy world? Do you need a few hours just for you, where you can indulge your creativity in a low-stress workshop where no “artistic talent” is needed? Come and discover a great way to easily and quickly be creative, and to have fun as you let go of stress and worry.

In this two-hour workshop you’ll learn how to use oracle cards as a means of tapping into your inner wisdom and creativity, and then you’ll transform an old book into an art journal, connecting with your creative muse as you play with color and collage. You will leave with a wonderful and easy creative practice than can help center you and bring enjoyment to your life. All materials are provided and all levels of creative experience are welcome!

Overview:

  • Learn about Oracle cards and altered books.
  • Participate in a simple guided meditation to arrive and become present to ourselves and our intentions for the workshop.
  • Use a variety of materials (ink pads, pens, water soluble oil pastels, and lots of collage materials) to put color and images into your art journals.
  • Talk about the experience of creating in the journals and using the cards.

About Monica Garcia:

Monica Garcia is a former clinical psychologist, has been a life coach and intuitive guide Monica Garcia - Art Therapist - Modern Art Journal for several years, and is a certified expressive arts teacher. She discovered that making art in an old book and using it as a visual journal of her thoughts and feelings is a centering and grounding practice. Her workshop participants have found that this practice is also energizing and enlivening as it helps to unlock creative expression without concern for technique or the finished product.
