About the Floral Artist:

Tomobi means “belong to beauty” in Japanese and that’s what owner and principle designer, Tomoko Jarrell, wishes every customer will feel when they experience her floral arrangements. Tomoko pays attention to every detail and is not satisfied until each arrangement is perfect. She believes floral design is not only about flowers, but is a creative process and art form. Tomoko has shared her creative process with the gallery and the community in a workshop last December 2016.

Tomoko has been a florist since 1989 and started her high-end floral design business Tomobi Floral Art in 2002 in San Francisco, California. She has a degree in floral arrangement from Hibiya Flower Academy in Tokyo, Japan, where she is from. At the Flower Academy she studied European, High Style, Ikebana, and Ohararyu design. She has refined both Japanese and Western styles and has continued to develop her own unique style and artistic sensibilities.

In 1998, while still living in Tokyo, Tomoko was sponsored by a floral company in the United Sates and moved to San Francisco, California. Soon after she was hired as principle designer and manager for another floral company. In 2002 she started her own business and has created original floral designs for weddings, parties, hotels, restaurants at a variety of special events in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. She has the ability to work in many scales from small to large to installations!
