Olmaq Studio
Olmaq Studio is a leather workshop in the SF Bay. All pieces are designed and handcrafted by Rena Ragimova. She is a life-long artist and creator, currently working with leather.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed and hand stitched together using the traditional saddle stitch method. Saddle stitching is stronger than machine stitching and makes for items that will last you for life.
She is constantly rethinking with her relationship to the animals whose skins she cuts and sews to create accessories for humans.
The word “olmaq” comes from the Azerbaijani language and means “to be” or “to become”. Although she does not speak the language, she is Azeri herself and is often inspired by Eastern and Islamic aesthetic.
